I've done one so far. Mailed out an envelope full of coupons to a poster. Hope she was able to save at least a little of money with them. So I'm wondering is that what it will take to get you guys participating in my blog? If so what kind of contest would you like to see? I have coupons, products, and a few other "goodies" for prizes. Help me help you. I don't mind doing a blog, find it a kind of stress relief actually. But I do need to work on it quite a bit. Would love to have some more interaction on here. A plea for help
Hey guys. I know there are only a few of you who read my blog. I also know it needs a lot of work before it become a "real" blog. I'm doing the best I can. It's official, I suck at blogging. To make it up to you all I will post some of the better deals that are out there right now.

in last weeks smart source (if you got your coupons like you were supposed to) was a coupon for 2.00 of a 4 roll pack of Marcal toilet paper. It's on sale until Tuesday for 1.29 a package so you'll get it free. After Tuesday it goes back to regular price of 1.79 so you'll still get it free. You just can't beat free toilet tissue.

This whole blogging thing is new and a little confusing to me. It would help me out a great deal if you guys would post comments. With no comments I feel like I'm talking to myself. You have to get your coupons
Too many people forget to actually go to the store and buy a Sunday paper. Here we have 2 choices, Shreveport Times and The Daily Sentinel. I buy both. I buy at least 2 copies of each. Why buy 2? Well if there happens to be a sale on something in there and I want more than 1 I will need multiple coupons! Always ALWAYS be sure to look and make sure your inserts are in there. I will try to post a "coupon schedule" soon. It will be on the side and list the dates, how many, and which inserts will be in the paper. It will not be a set in stone schedule but approximate. I will try to post weekly exactly what inserts will be there. They don't change them often, but they do change. There are almost never coupons following a Holiday. P & G have been sneaking theirs in on those week-ends. It never hurts to drive to the store, pick up a paper, flip through it to check and see if there are any.
Buying coupons online.
Technically you can't BUY coupons. You can buy someones time to find, clip, and sort coupons. Each coupon states can't be sold, copied, etc. So by buying a persons "time" you aren't actually buying the coupon. The main place I buy coupons is Ebay. I do occasionally order from a clipping service, but not often. The key to buying coupons is don't pay more for the coupon than it will save you. Typically I will pay up to .05 - .10 per coupon depending on what it is and how good of a coupon it is. You won't save any money if you order a .50 cent coupon and pay .50 cents for it. I don't want to offend anyone but it's a common sense thing. Most people sell in multiples. I typically pay $1.00 - 2.00 for 20 coupons. I will pay more if it's a super hot coupon and I can get a great item for free or even get overage (I'll explain that later) but that doesn't happen often. Just be smart and sensible when buying online and don't forget to include shipping and handling!

Early Sale Knowledge
There is nothing quite like needing something and having to *gasp* pay full price for it! Well fret no more. There are ways you can find out what's going to be on sale NEXT WEEK. That way if you need it but can live without it a few days to get it on sale you'll know where to go.
Here in East Texas we are limited to the stores we can shop at locally for everyday needs.

Baby Steps
I have been couponing for about 2 1/2 years now HARDCORE. I was totally overwhelmed at first. I wanted all the deals, all the coupons, all of it, EVERYTHING. The key is not to let it overwhelm you. Don't go for the gusto right off the bat. Start small and build up. Start with one Sunday Paper and maybe some printables. Next while you are shopping look for things with coupons on them (peelies). Look for hang tags, the little pads of coupons right out there in plain sight, often ignored. Build up your coupon supply slowly.
Shop the deals. Get your sales papers. Look for things you use in there and make a note of where it is and the price. Comparison shop. Remember too that Wal-Mart and Target will price match keeping you from going to multiple stores if you don't want too. I often tell people that my family eats according to what is on sale that week. I grab my sale papers, sit down, make a menu and a grocery list. Often it keeps us eating something different instead of the same old things all the time. Also makes cooking during the week easier. I have the ideas listed right in front of me. I don't have to spend time wondering "what's for dinner".
Most importantly Remember a penny saved is a penny earned!

Back to the Savings
Well now that I finally have life back to normal (whatever that is) I actually have time to chase the deals again. I will do my best to post my deals for everyone. Keep in mind that there are lots of deals out there but I am limited living in a small town rural area. I will try to only post deals for local shopping. Granted I won't post all the deals, just my personal favorites! Keep in mind also that my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE grocery store is Kroger. It may be a bit of a drive, but it's WELL worth the drive for the savings you get!
